My First Franken

Hi there!

I got the itch to make a franken polish, so I bought some holographic powder...

Holographic powder.

... and I mixed it with a black nail polish I bought from my local dollar store.

Holographic nail polish.

The last nail is what it ended up as. It isn't as lovely as the often-hard-to-find-and-expensive holographic nail polishes, but it isn't horrible.

I wasn't too thrilled with the look of it, so I added purple glitter...

Holographic nail polish.

Better, right? Look at it with a blurred flash...

Holographic nail polish.

Now I'm satisfied. What do you think?

Until next time...

I Miss Buddy

Hi there!

I've really been missing Buddy lately...

video

This is one of my favorite videos of him and Bandit playing with one another. Aren't they sweet? I especially love 58-59 seconds into it. He was always cute like that ♥

Until next time...

A Few Favorites

Hi there!

This blog post isn't at all related to nail polish, but I thought it'd be fun to share some of my favorite beauty items. It's rather lengthy, so be prepared. With the exception of 1 item, they're all available at drugstores and/or stores like Walmart and Target. I feel the need to first let you know that these truly are my favorites and I purchased all of them on my own.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst, St. Ives Body Polish with Oatmeal
& Shea Butter, St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub, and Caress
Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash.

I keep the Clean & Clear facial cleanser in my shower. What I like most about it is the smell... it smells like lemon-y goodness! I've never had a problem with facial cleansers leaving my skin oily or shiny, so I can't honestly say whether it controls those- but the bottle says it does.
I use the St. Ives Body Polish every 2 or 3 days. It's a sugar scrub that contains real chunks of oatmeal. It smells fantastic and it leaves my skin very soft.
I don't use the St. Ives Naturally Clear too often. It's an exfoliating facial scrub that is supposed to control blemishes and blackheads. I use it when I feel that my face is either too oily or too dry. The beads help remove the oils and they also help remove the dry skin.
I received a sample size of the Caress body wash as a promotion when it was first released back in 2008 (maybe early 2009) and I've been using it ever since. I ♥ the scent: Burnt Brown Sugar & Karite Butter.

Bioré Deep Cleansing Pore Strips.

I swear by these! I use a strip every 3 or 4 weeks, depending on how clogged I think my pores look. Some people think they hurt... where as I think they feel good. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend keeping the strips away from your under eye area- either by cutting the strips so they're smaller, or by just not getting that area wet (so the strip won't stick to it). What I really love is looking at the strip once I rip it off of my nose. Is that gross? ;-p

L'Oréal Hydrafresh Toner, L'Oréal Futur-e Moisturizer, L'Oréal
Hydra-Renewal, and Neutrogena Visibly Even Daily Moisturizer.

I use the toner everyday. I had an average amount of acne off and on through junior high and high school and I feel like once I started using this, the acne became more sparse. I continue to use it because it leaves my face feeling fresh and smooth. It also helps that it's alcohol-free, so it smells nice.
The Futur-e Moisturizer is what I use everyday. It's one of the few moisturizers that I can honestly say are lightweight and non-sticky. It has SPF 15 in it, so I suppose that's a plus.
Sometimes I get dry patches of skin on my face that just can't be scrubbed away. That's when I use the Hydra-Renewal. I just use it in the problem areas- not all over my face. It has the same smell as the toner I use.
I use the Neutrogena Visibly Even for the same purposes as the Hydra-Renewal. It used to be my daily moisturizer, but it's more on the thick side- so I switched to using it for problem dry patches. It smells great, and it leaves my skin with a glow. It has SPF 30.

St. Ives Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Moisturizer, Body
Fantasies Cotton Candy Fantasy, and Vera Wang Princess.

The first time I used the St. Ives lotion was an evening just before I went to bed. I rubbed it all over my arms, legs, and feet. When I woke up in the morning, my skin felt just as soft as a baby's behind! I must have 20 bottles of lotion, but this is my go-to. I even have a back-up bottle of it. It smells the same as the body polish, and it leaves my skin soft- but not oily.
I use the cotton candy body spray after showers, baths, or even before bed. Basically, I use it when I want to smell something sweet. The smell doesn't last very long, but I like it.
Vera Wang's Princess perfume is my go-to perfume. I have about 140 bottles of perfume, but I use this one the most. I even have a back-up bottle of it. I'm not able to pinpoint all of the top and base notes in it, though I do smell water lily and vanilla. It's a sweet smell that isn't overpowering, yet it lasts for a majority of the day.

CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Eye Concealer, Maybelline
Expert Wear Eye Shadow, ChapStick Peppermint, and Maybelline
Shine Sensational Lip Gloss in Cocoa Fever.

I have pretty hard-to-hide under eye circles. They aren't from lack of sleep, it's just the way my eyes are :-/ I've tried MANY different under eye products in the past 10 years, and this is the one I'm most happy with. It feels thin, but it has full coverage and it's very easy to blend.
I wear browns on my lids more often than any other color. I have a lot of browns, but Tastefully Taupe is the one I'm stuck on at the moment. It's applies smoothly and it doesn't melt into my crease.
The Peppermint ChapStick is fantastic. I love the tingly feeling it gives my lips, and I love the smell. It makes my lips soft and smoochable :-) I keep one in my purse, one in my bedside table, one in the coffee table, and I have 3 back-up tubes!
The Maybelline lipgloss smells phenomenal... it tastes yummy, too! I'm not sure I've seen anything quite like it before- it has holographic shimmer in it! I have pretty fair colored skin, and I honestly don't think this shade looks good on me. I just wear it when I know I won't be going out in public.

Cottonelle Fresh Flushable Moist Wipes.

I never thought I'd use these, but I had a coupon for a free box of them (I'm a sucker for freebies). I'm hooked. I've tried other brands, but they smelled funny and they weren't as sturdy. These are very fresh smelling and they're nice and soft.

Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Cuticle & Nail Moisture Treatment Pen.

I just didn't feel right not including something related to nails. I've been using this pen for at least 5 years. I use it when my cuticles look dry, and it seems to make them instantly rejuvenate. I also like it because a little goes a long way, so I feel that I get my money's worth.

Well, that's a wrap. Do you use any of the products I listed? What are your favorite beauty items?

Until next time...

The ABCs of Me!

Hi there!

I've seen a few people in the blogging community do a post like this recently and I wanted to jump on board...

A. Age: I turned 26 in April.

B. Bed Size: King. My birthday present last year was a new bedroom set and I ♥ it! We had a California king at the time, and we quickly realized how difficult it is to find sets that'll fit that size of mattress. It now resides in one of our guest bedrooms.

C. Chore I Hate: Cleaning the toilets! I don't mind cleaning the toilets I use most often, but the guest bathroom... ick! Though, I do love entertaining house guests :-)

D. Day: Sundays- that's the only day my hunny poo gets off from work :*(

E. Essential Start of My Day: I always invite my puppy onto the bed to snuggle for a minute before I get up.

F. Favorite Color: That's tough. My favorite color of clothing to wear is purple. My favorite color of nail polish is blue. My favorite color to decorate my house with is red.

G. Gold or Silver: White gold or platinum :-)

H. Height: I'm 5'4"

I. Instruments: My voice... I love to sing. I also play the piano, but I'm not very good at it.

J. Job Title: Mental Health Specialist.

K. Kids: Someday :-) We think we want 3... 2 boys and a girl.

L. Live: Currently, we live near Seattle, WA. Sometimes, we live in San Diego, CA.

M. Mom's Name: Diana.

N. Nicknames: Babe. I bet you can't guess who calls me that ;-p

O. Overnight Stay at the Hospital: Hopefully, I never have to.

P. Pet Peeves: Rude people. Unfortunately, I encounter a lot of them :-/ It also bugs me when people say/type "pronounciation." I'm kind of a stickler for language.

Q. Quote From a Movie: "Edgar, your skin is hanging off your bones." - Men In Black.

R. Right or Left Handed: I'm right handed. I can use my left hand just as easily as my right hand for everything except writing.

S. Siblings: I'm an only child. Though, I was lucky enough to grow up living near many of my cousins.

T. Time I Wake Up: Whenever the heck I feel like it :-D

U. Underwear: I think they're essential ;-) And I don't think they should cost so dang much money!

V. Vegetable I Hate: I've never tasted one I hate... but they must be fresh! My favorites are carrots, green beans, and peas.

W. What Makes Me Late: My husband. He spends his time making fun of me for the time he thinks it takes me to get ready. Once I'm standing by the door, ready to leave the house- he's yet to brush his teeth or put on his socks, shoes, and jacket.

X. X-Rays: I get them every year at the dentist. I also got x-rays when my doctor thought my ankle was broken... turns out it was only sprained.

Y. Yummy Foods I Can Make: I'm good in the kitchen. I can make just about anything if I have a recipe. I love to cook with lemon pepper!

Z. Zoo: I've been to 2 that I can remember... Portland, OR and San Diego, CA. It's not a zoo, but I've also been to Sea World. I loved it there!

If you've done a post like this and I've somehow missed it, post the link. I'd love to see it!

Until next time...

I'm a Good Guesser

Hi there!

My hunny poo and I are complete goofballs. We constantly make funny noises at each other, take dorky pictures, and make the most random and pointless bets. Recently, he bet me that he knew who would win the NBA Playoffs. I really don't think I know much about sports... I don't follow them at all. In fact, the only time I care about them is when he and I are in some type of competition.

We set the rules: write down which team we each thought would win, along with the score- just in case we chose the same team. The winner would be whoever chose the correct team and guessed the closest score. The prize: he was itching to go lose money at the casino. I really didn't want anything- I just like knowing I won :-) But he suggested nail polish. Pshhh... don't have to twist my arm on that one!

Well, I'm sure you know by now- I won :-D I guessed that the Miami Heat would win, while he guessed that the Boston Celtics would win. My sole reason for choosing the Miami Heat was that I've been to Miami.

What I got...

All from Color Club, left to right: Tangerine Scream, Warhol,
Ultra Violet, Pure Energy, and What a Shock!

All from China Glaze, left to right: Raspberry Festival, Cherry Pie,
Orange Marmalade, Breakin', and Papaya Punch.

All from China Glaze, left to right: Seduce Me, Emotion,
Harmony, Señorita Bonita, and Blue Sparrow.

Can you tell I'm excited for summer?

China Glaze - Hawaiian Punch

Hi there!

I haven't worn red in a while...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Hawaiian Punch.

I painted 3 coats to get this polish to look the way it does. 2 coats would have been fine, but I was testing it to see if a third coat would make it opaque. The third coat made a little bit of a difference, but if you don't want to see your nail lines, I recommend applying a neutral base. The application of this polish was perfect.

I enjoy this color, but it's one of those that make me strictly think of summer. It just doesn't seem to fit in with all of the rain clouds and mud puddles.

Do you have a polish that you will only wear during certain seasons? If so, what is it?

China Glaze - Adore - Romantique

Hi there!

Today, I wanted to polish my nails with something quick and effortless. My experience with metallic polishes helped me choose China Glaze's Adore, from the Romantique collection...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Adore.

I only needed to paint one coat to make this polish opaque. It applied like a dream and it dried very quickly. The picture shows a couple of streaky nails, but that was the fault of my being in a hurry- not the polish.

What's your favorite metallic polish? I don't see people sporting them too often :-/

Nubar - Reclaim

Hi there!

Look at how pretty this polish is...

My nails painted with Nubar - Reclaim.

I only needed to paint 2 coats to make this polish opaque, and I did not use a basecoat or a topcoat. It applied beautifully. I've worn this polish all day while cleaning and gardening, and I don't yet notice any tip wear. ... That's a big deal, since when I wore Nfu Oh's 61, I noticed unwarranted chips within a couple of hours.

Do you own this polish? What's the best holographic polish available?

Until next time...

Sally Hansen - Lilac Chantilly

Hi there!

This manicure is for my mom. When I sent her a picture of my nail polish rack, she said her eyes were drawn toward the pretty shape of the bottle near the middle...

My nails painted with Sally Hansen - Lilac Chantilly.

I applied 2 coats to make this polish opaque. It has what I can only describe as a sheer metallic finish- the first coat is mostly sheer, and the second coat achieves a metallic finish. Since it's not a true metallic, I don't recommend it for stamping... unless you're aiming for a subtle look. I tried stamping with it when I was playing around, and it is pretty... it just wasn't as bold as I like.

I Made Another Mess

Hi there!

My replacement Bundle Monster plates arrived today! I should be happy, right? I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Bundle Monster mess.

And just look at this image plate...

Bundle Monster flaw.

I didn't have the patience that I had when I tested my first Bundle Monster set. But I did manage to test 13 of the image plates...

Bundle Monster tests.

Like before, I put arrows next to the images that were problematic. Not as many image plates in this set were missing parts of the etching compared to my last set... so I guess that's a step in the right direction.

I'm not pleased. In fact, I'm comfortable saying that I'm disappointed- I'm still unable to use my favorite image (the flowers at the top of BM-205) out of the entire set because it's messed up here, too :*(

I haven't decided yet whether I'll pursue another replacement set. Between both sets, most of the images work.

I'll keep you updated.

Until next time...

My Private Fantasy

Hi there!

Haha, that totally sounds dirty! This may seem like a strange combination, but I reeeally wanted to wear both colors today...

My nails painted with OPI - My Private Jet and China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy.

I promise it doesn't look Halloween-y in person. Typical of neons, Flip Flop Fantasy isn't captured well by my camera. It's an awesome neon reddish pink!

Here's a cell phone picture...

My nails painted with OPI - My Private Jet and China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy.

It's very blurry, but the color is more accurate- especially in the glare areas on my middle finger and my pinky.

I painted 2 coats of My Private Jet, though it would have been fine with just one coat. I painted 2 thick coats of Flip Flop Fantasy and I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite.

The more I look at my hands, the more I like this combination!

Have you tried any strange or unexpected color combinations?

Until next time...

Kinky Plum Purple

Hi there!

I couldn't decide on which color to paint my nails today, so I played with 3 very similar polishes...

OPI - Kinky in Helsinki, Sally Hansen - Posh Plum,
and Sinful Colors - Fuchsia Purple.

And on my nails...

From left to right: OPI - Kinky in Helsinki, Sally Hansen -
Posh Plum, and Sinful Colors - Fuchsia Purple.

Sorry for the shadow on my ring finger. The color is most accurate next to the glare and at the tip's half of the nail. I painted 2 coats of each polish to make them opaque. Kinky in Helsinki has a bit more red than the other 2, but it has the same color of purple shimmer- just not as dense. Fuchsia Purple didn't apply as easily as Kinky in Helsinki and Posh Plum. Though it painted on well, it dried with noticeable air bubbles.

I like all 3 of these colors, but if you're trying to decide on just 1 to purchase- they're in order from my favorite to my least favorite. That's based on application and the dried results.

Now... I'm off to watch the season finale of Desperate Housewives. Don't judge! It's a guilty pleasure and I just can't help it!

What's your guilty pleasure TV show... past or present?

Until next time...

They're Good and Gone

Hi there!

I made the mistake of clipping and shaping my nails while sitting in front of my nail polish rack. I didn't get up right away and this resulted...

Possibly the worst manicure ever.

Beautiful, right!? Haha ;-p

What's better, is I realized the bank was about to close and I hurried off with this still on my nails so I could make it on time.

I must have used 30 different polishes. I had fun. Admit it... you do it, too ;-p

Until next time...

I Made a Mess

Hi there!

This past weekend, I had an issue with one of my new Bundle Monster plates. The image I wanted to use just would not transfer to the stamper and/or my nail. So, I emailed customer service and asked them to send me a new plate. I heard back from them today and they suggested I test the other plates in my set to see if any others were faulty.

Hmmm, sounds like fun!

Bundle Monster mess.

I'm so glad I tested the others! Well, I only tested BM-201 through BM-216... but 12 of the 16 plates had something wrong with them :-/

It was turning into a huge mess and I was wasting a lot of polish, cotton balls, and q-tips. I figured since 75% of the tested plates were faulty, the percentage wouldn't vary too much with the rest of the set. So, I stopped.

Bundle Monster tests.

I stamped a lot of the images onto this paper. The images with with arrows next to them are the ones I had a problem with. Some plates were visibly defective (parts of the image weren't etched into the plate), while others just wouldn't transfer the image and/or were foggy when stamped. The 3 stars I drew on the page represent the 3 image plates I think are okay, while I'm unsure of BM-214.

If you've got the new Bundle Monster set and have experienced any problems with the plates/images, I suggest you test at least one image from each plate. Also, look closely at each image- some of the defects are clearly visible. Email customer service and explain the situation (unless, of course, you're okay with keeping defective plates). They seem very nice and easy to work with. I'll keep you posted!

Until next time...

Sinful Colors - Feeling Great

Hi there!

Today, I'm wearing Sinful Colors' Feeling Great...

My nails painted with Sinful Colors - Feeling Great.

I'm pleased with this polish. It applied very easily and I only needed to paint 2 coats to make it opaque. However, there is an itty bit of visible nail line that I notice where the free edge of my nail is longer than my finger. I don't think anyone who wasn't looking out for it would notice this from afar... or up close, for that matter.

How do you like the super ouchy hangnail mark on my thumb? Do you have any suggestions for making them feel better and/or less noticeable?

Until next time...

Color Club - Take Me to Your Chateau

Hi there!

I was staring at my nail polish for the longest time and I just couldn't choose a color to paint my nails! So, I closed my eyes and grabbed one...

My nails painted with Color Club - Take Me to Your Chateau.

The first coat applied a little bit streakily, but the second coat made it look great and opaque. I really like this light blue, and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants and/or needs one :-)

Now I'm craving a sunny day with clear blue skies!

National Nurses Week

Hi there!

I came across this blog post yesterday and I knew instantly that I had to try it for myself! She makes it look so easy...

My nails painted for National Nurses Week.

For being my first attempt at freehand nail art, I don't think I did a bad job. It's much more difficult than it looks!

I used...

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri - Whirlwind White, Wet n Wild Fast Dry -
Ebony Hates Chris, Elf - Innocent, China Glaze - Hey Sailor, and
Seche Vite. I also used a tiny-tipped paint brush.

Though it's not likely in my immediate future, I hope to practice my freehand work. This was fun!

Happy National Nurses Week to all of my nurse friends and family!

Until next time...

Graffiti Lace in Lincoln Park

Hi there!

I wanted to use some of my metallics, so I chose 3 to stamp over yesterday's manicure...

My nails painted with OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark Suede.
Stamped with Konad image plate M70.

I used...

From left to right: OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark Suede,
China Glaze - Passion, Sally Hansen - Ruby Chrome,
Nicole by OPI - Positive Energy, Seche Vite, double sided
stamper, scraper, and Konad plate M70.

All of the polishes are fairly new except Ruby Chrome. It's suuuper old, so I'm not sure you'll be able to find it in a store. Each of the colors I stamped with were very easy to work with, but I think any brand of metallic gold, pink, or silver would work for stamping this image.

Until next time...

OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark Suede

Hi there!

I had fun playing with my polishes, but I decided on OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark Suede. It's very pretty...

My nails painted with OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark Suede.

This polish applied very easily and I only needed to paint 2 coats to make it opaque. Here it is with a coat of Seche Vite...

I'm not sure which way I like better.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi there!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day, whether you're a mother or not :-)

We forgot to check our mail yesterday, so this was waiting for me this morning...

All from OPI, left to right: Up Front & Personal, Tutti Frutti Tonga,
You're a Pisa Work, Kinky in Helsinki, We'll Always Have Paris
Suede, and Lincoln Park After Dark Suede.

All from Color Club, left to right: Sakura Glow, Coastal Creme,
Soft as Cashmere, and Untamed Luxury.

I got a screaming deal on ebay and just could not pass them up! I'm going to play with one of the colors and post about it shortly...

Until next time...

Nfu Oh - 61 Totally Chips and Peels!

Hi there!

Nfu Oh - 61 has been on my nails for less than 24 hours and this is what it has already turned into...

Nfu Oh - 61 totally chips and peels!

About an hour after painting my nails, I had already noticed tip wear. I wasn't doing anything harsh... unless you consider typing up a quick blog post and maybe using the remote control to turn down the TV volume harsh. I decided to leave it be, because I figured I could do a couple of touch ups before stamping over it this morning.

Anyhow... I did the touch ups, stamped my nails, typed up a new blog post, visited with my brother in-law (nothing at all to do with my hands, but maybe he hexed me ;-p), and put my hair up in a clip. That's all I did in a span of 2 hours before I noticed major chipping and peeling. I got frustrated and peeled most of it off. As you can tell, they weren't just little, manageable pieces of polish that were peeling.

I did wrap my tips with Seche Vite, though it was ultimately a waste. I've read that it's important to use the Nfu Oh Aqua Base as well as the Nfu Oh Top Coat with their holographic polishes. Admittedly, I used neither. Perhaps my manicure would have lasted longer had I used at least one of the two. I may or may not decide to invest in them... so for now, I suppose I'll settle with this being a special occasion quickie polish.

Until next time...

Nfu Oh - 61 Stamped

Hi there!

The first thing on my agenda today was stamping my favorite image (the flowers at the top of BM-205) from the new Bundle Monster set onto my nails. You probably know where this is going... it didn't happen. I seem to have received a defective plate :-(

I must have tried 10 times with Konad's special black polish before I gathered a few other black polishes to test out. None of them worked, either. So I tried the Konad polish again because I was determined. The image just would not transfer to the stamper. Boooo!

I emailed customer service and I asked for a replacement, because that plate truly does contain my favorite image from the entire set. We'll see what happens.

My nails still needed some spice, so I chose the image closest to what I initially wanted...

My nails painted with Nfu Oh - 61.
Stamped with Bundle Monster image plate BM-224.

I don't love this image with that base (I really had my heart set on that other image), but I don't think it looks bad. I used Konad's special black polish to stamp, and I topped it with a coat of Seche Vite.

Have you tried the new Bundle Monster image plates? Are any of your plates defective? I've read several reviews where the reviewers say they've run into the same problem that I did :-/

Until next time...

Nfu Oh - 61

Hi there!

I had been googly eyes over Nfu Oh's holographic polish 61 for the longest time, but it always seemed to be sold out. Almost magically, it was back in stock and I got my hands on it :-D

I couldn't wait to try it. I was almost disappointed because it went on silver... plain silver. This polish dries fast, and as soon as it started drying, I began to see the holographic effect :-) I'd be lying if I didn't say it's amazing!

My nails painted with Nfu Oh - 61.

I applied 2 coats to make this polish opaque. I also added a coat of Seche Vite. After first putting it on my thumb, I was briefly terrified. The topcoat turned the polish back to silver! Not to worry, once the topcoat started to dry, the polish returned to its holographic loveliness.

Here are different views of my thumb...

Aren't those colors gorgeous!?

Until next time...

So Cute

Hi there!

I bought my dog a new squeaky toy last night and she's been tromping around with it non-stop...

Now she's pooped... and snoring! Cute, right!?

I just had to show you :-)

A Shattered Space Case

Hi there!

Instead of removing them, I like to add to manicures when I feel they've run their course...

My nails painted with Color Club - Space Case and OPI - Black Shatter.

The glitter barely shines through, but I think the pink looks pretty against the black.

Color Club - Space Case - Starry Temptress

Hi there!

Today, I've got my nails painted with Color Club's Space Case, from the Starry Temptress collection. It's an interesting polish- but first, let me show you...

My nails painted with Color Club - Space Case.

I have mixed opinions of this color. The application was so-so... it wasn't horrible, but it was nothing special. The base of the color is a nice neon pink with a blue shimmer. Holographic glitter floats throughout the polish, and that's where I was most let down. I feel like most of the glitter gets covered by the polish, so the end result looks as if I've gotten dirt or air bubbles mixed with the pink. The glitter that stays above the polish does look pretty, though.

I only needed to paint 2 coats to make this polish opaque. I used a coat of Seche Vite over the top of it and I highly recommend some type of topcoat over this polish. The Starry Temptress collection has a topcoat with matching glitter suspended in it, and I've read that it makes all the difference in making this line pop. Perhaps if I would have used it, I would have been more pleased.

Overall, I think this is a pretty color... it's just not what I envision when I think of shimmer, glitter, or holographic polishes.

Do you own any of the polishes from this collection? What's your opinion of them?

Until next time...

Sexy in the City 2010

Hi there!

I've really been missing the Caribbean lately. It is beyond beautiful! ... So I decided to pay homage by painting my nails with a color that reminds me of being there.

My nails painted with China Glaze - Sexy in the City.

This is a gorgeous blue with blue and green shimmer! It was very easy to work with... I only needed to paint 2 coats to make it opaque.

I couldn't just leave it at that, though it is stunning on its own...

My nails painted with China Glaze - Sexy in the City
and Nubar - 2010.

I added 2 coats of Nubar's 2010. Now this reminds me of a Caribbean sunset on the water ♥

Ohh, the memories. I hope to be able to go back again someday. If you could go anywhere in this world, where would you choose?

Until next time...

My New Nail Polish Storage

Hi there!

I am SOOOO excited! My new nail polish rack is dried and installed!

My nail polish rack/storage/collection.

It isn't yet completely organized the way I'll want to keep it, but I suppose it'll do for now :-D

It holds about 315 bottles of polish. However, the shelves are deep enough to hold 2 bottles... and the bottom shelf is deep enough to hold 3 bottles. So I do potentially have enough space for 651 bottles of polish. I guess I have to go shopping again ;-p

Thank you, hunny poo, for building this for me ♥

Until next time...
